A New Hope is a movie that should be respected for what it has achieved bringing about a revolution in the special effects industry. If you haven’t at very least heard about Star wars where have you been living for the past 30 years? A New Hope has it all space ships, an evil galactic empire, a beautiful princess and an idealistic rebel alliance.

For a long time I wondered what I would say if I ever meet George Lucas. Just recently I realized all that i could really say to him is “Thank You”. Thank you for making a series of films that have formed such a strong part of my childhood. So in strong in fact, the Star Wars movies will always be on my sentimental list of favorite movies.

The first time I actually watched Star Wars: A New Hope I was to young to remember. I’m told that I was about 12 months old when on a Saturday morning my Sister got me out of my cot and made me breakfast and set me down in front of the TV to watch Star Wars: A New Hope on tape. This continued every Saturday morning until the tape ended up in such a state that it was impossible to watch.

So to George Lucas and everyone who had a part to play in the making of the Star Wars Trilogy “Thank You” for making the Movies and “Thank You” from the bottom of my heart for those Saturday mornings.

And thank you to my big sister for pressing Play.
