11 years later after the events in the second film, a group of terrorists led by General Boris kidnap the Russian prime minister’s son and daughter and hold them hostage, demanding the release of their comrades within 72 hours. In addition, they have taken over the crippled Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and threaten to detonate it if their demands are not met.

I guess with some film franchises, there really is no knockout punch. No matter how hard we hope. With the release of Universal Soldier regeneration marks the fifth overall film released by the franchise however, this is only the third movie in the ‘official’ series. It should be noted that there are some action sequences that could be described as being truly creative, the overall pace of the movie seemed to be lacking somehow to the point that I found myself struggling to stay awake. Fans of the actors involved or fans of the Universal soldier franchise are the people are the ones who should really even bother with this lame duck franchise.
