Travel writer Lemuel Gulliver takes an assignment in Bermuda, but ends up on the island of Liliput, where he tower over its tiny citizens.
Though Gulliver’s Travels is a classic piece of English literature written by Jonathan Swift and is over two hundred years old, which has gone on to inspire numerous movies. I would have to applaud your judgement should you fail to watch this movie at the cinema, and I would hope that sterling judgement would cause you to give this movie a wide berth when it is released on DVD.
Why was Gulliver’s travels released as a 3D movie? Ego, or to give extra punch to the less than stellar toilet humour that Jack Black seems to be so well renowned for. Filmmakers need to realize that if they insist on making 3D movies their films will be compared to the likes of Avatar. Unlike Avatar, their lesser 3D films will always be pissed on.
Who thought it would be a good idea to cast Jack Black in this movie? He is a ham actor of the highest order, granted this is a children’s movie but if somebody had the foresight to cast anybody other then Jack Black, perhaps then the movie would appeal to a wider audience. Causing fewer parents to curse their children for making them take them to see this god-awful movie.
