In 1995, drug suppliers and career criminals Tony Tucker, Patrick Tate and Craig Rolfe were blasted to death by a shot gun whilst waiting in a Range Rover in Rettendon, Essex. The film charts their rise to become the most prolific dealers and feared criminals in the south of England, maintaining the hold on their empire with fear and violence until their untimely death.
Do the British filmmakers make gangster films better than anybody else does? Dam straight they do!
Bonded by Blood is another film in a long list of films that proves this. If all that your after is gratuitous sex and violence look to an American film. If you’re after something where thought and care is given to the crafting its language and where there is a different approach and more dramatic impact to its violence. Then take my advice and go British.
The film is based on a book written by Bernard O’Mahoney about the death of the Essex boys, Now everybody knows the rule the book is usually better then the film. Now director Sacha Bennett has taken an interesting choice in telling the story, which is very similar to that of the American television series
