A tough U.S. Marshal helps a stubborn young woman track down her father’s murderer.
While leaving the cinema after watching True Grit I overheard a Gentleman remark that John Wayne would turning over in his grave. I have a theory that over the past fifteen years that you could possibly count the total number of ‘westerns’ on two hands while you can count the total number of good ‘westerns’ on one hand. It is good to know that the Coen brothers where up to the task. Now I have to admit that I have not had the chance to watch the original version released in 1969, though I am reliably informed that the Coen interpretation is fair darker than the original. What really surprised me was how hilarious some of the jokes where and I was very impressed with Hailee Steinfeld’s performance.
