As he plans his next job, a long-time thief tries to balance his feelings for a bank manager connected to one of his earlier heists, as well as the FBI agent looking to bring him and his crew down.
Some of the best movies that I have seen in recent years have had such an impact on me because of how closely related the filmmakers are to their film. This is because ‘you write what you know’.
In the second feature film, that he has directed Ben Affleck is starting to show signs of being a good director. By all accounts in the special features on the DVD Affleck managed to maintain the balance between being a director and an actor.
It is great to see that The Town is another ‘crime thriller’ that does not openly embrace the ‘hip-hop gangsta’ culture. Sometimes it seems that all you have to do is wait two months before the next one rolls around to your local cinema. Not to take anything away from those movies, but when it comes to movies and throwing down $17 to see them, you do not want to find yourself 10 minutes ahead of the movie that you are watching.
