A ghostwriter hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister and uncovers secrets that put his own life in jeopardy.
Fans of a tense and well crafted, thriller; especially fans of Alfred Hitchcock movies are going to love this one. Yes, this another movie based on ‘The Ghost’ written by Robert Harris that I have not read. I am only pointing this out because in an interview it was pointed out that very little work was needed to adapt the novel into the screenplay. There is also a niece notion of art versus life where it is suggested that with the ongoing war on terrorism the character of Adam Lang was inspired by the real life former British PM Tony Blair.
Aspiring film makers really should take note of The Ghost Writer and how Roman Polanski and Robert Harris used violence within the movie adhering to the idiom ‘less is more’ By doing this they managed to heighten the overall impact of the violence.
