ACT Chief Minister Gallagher tours $26 million Adult Mental Health Unit

Recently Chief Minister and Minister for Health, Katy Gallagher toured a sample room of the new $26 million Adult Mental Health Unit which will be completed in a month. ACT Shadow Health Minister Jeremy Hanson pointed out that the original delivery date was promised for September 2010.
“The sample room clearly shows just how fantastic this new facility will be with purpose built spaces, landscaped gardens, private areas and communal spaces. This new center is a significant improvement on the current Psychiatric Services Unit at the Canberra Hospital,” Chief Minister Katy Gallagher said.
Shadow Minister Hanson commented, As we expect to see so much of this year, Katy Gallagher is today touting the project is ‘near completion’ while it is 16 months late and $2 million over budget.
“The Canberra Liberals wholeheartedly support the need for this mental health facility, but don’t support ACT Labor’s continued election year fanfare when there is nothing to announce but unmet promises,” Mr Hanson said
