A teen gang in South London defend their block from an alien invasion.
Attack the Block, is a brilliant movie and I am kind of bummed out that it took me so long to get around to watching it. Considering that the Aliens that are said to have landed in Roswell landed in the middle of nowhere it poses a juicy ‘what if?’ question. What would happen if Aliens landed in the middle of a major metropolitan city?
This was the first movie that I have watched that was directed by Joe Cornish who really did not seem to bring an overly flashy directing style. The down and dirty style of the movie was very apparent with the visual effects of the aliens as they did not seem to have that polished look that you would expect from most ‘alien invasion’ movies from the past twenty years. With the possible exception of the aliens from the 1996 movie, Mars Attacks. Those aliens seemed to be more comical then they were threatening. The only problem I had with the movie was the pacing of the introduction. I feel that it could have been slightly shorter.
