Following the mysterious death of an acclaimed ghost writer, a replacement writer is sent to an isolated compound to pen the memoirs of a former prime minister, and unknowingly becomes embroiled in a high stakes, international conspiracy that has deadly consequences.
Okay, this is yet another example of me watching a movie that is based on a book, when I have not read the book. However, in my defense I was not aware that Robert Harris had written The Ghost. I was only truly aware of this after exploring the extras in the DVD.
Fans of Alfred Hitchcock or for that matter any expertly crafted thriller are going to love this movie. There really were some brilliant performances in this film. Though nobody really ‘stole’ the movie. What I really loved about this movie was that it was alluded to that the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair inspired the character of Adam Lang. I was impressed by the impact of the violence. In the way, that less was indeed more.
