People are living their lives remotely from the safety of their own homes via robotic surrogates — sexy, physically perfect mechanical representations of themselves. It’s an ideal world where crime, pain, fear and consequences don’t exist. When the first murder in years jolts this utopia, FBI agent Greer discovers a vast conspiracy behind the surrogate phenomenon and must abandon his own surrogate, risking his life to unravel the mystery
With the invention of such online games as World of Warcraft, Age of Conan – Hyborian Adventures and more importantly Second Life demonstrates why Surrogates is such a significant piece of cinematic science fiction. These games particular Second Life in certain circumstance can prove to be highly addictive as they provide an easy escape from the rigors of the everyday world and provide you with any fantasy life that you desire, though of course playing such games can have the unwanted side effect of transferring you into a hermit. So indeed the next logical progression would be to a world suggested by director Jonathon Mostow and writers Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato.
