Staring Will Ferrell & Mark Wahlberg

Score 5/6

Two mismatched New York City detectives seize an opportunity to step up like the city’s top cops whom they idolize — only things don’t quite go as planned.

In many ways The Other Guys is very much the typical I was very hesitant about watching this movie because it stared Will Ferrell. Those of you who might have been reading my reviews for awhile might be aware of my less the kind remarks about Ferrell’s performance Talladega nights: The ballad of Ricky Bobby. However, he is not my favourite actor, but his performance in The Other Guys has more than redeemed him as an actor in my eyes. I found that The Other Guys was very ridiculous in places but it did not bother me, it only went on to make things all the more enjoyable.
On a side note, Writer and Director Adam McKay in one scene used what I would like to the one of the best film making techniques to depict a hard night of drinking.
