A cop turns vigilante after his family is murdered, exacting vengeance on the killers – and then on all criminals who have slipped through the system.
While reading other people’s opinions about Recoil I noticed that a few people thought there were some similarities with the television series Sons of Anarchy. Personally, I can see how easy it is to think that, but thinking that would an insult to the work of Sons of Anarchy series creator Kurt Sutter.
There really is not a lot going for this movie, at best Recoil should be watched towards the middle of movie marathon. Most of the acting seemed a little stiff but not entirely awkward. I keep thinking that Steve Austin is going to improve as an actor but somehow I think that is slightly unlikely unless he takes the bold step in taking roles in anything other than action movies. Both Danny Trejo and Lochlyn Munro where the only actors who gave anything resembling decent performances, though they were not enough to rescue this movie and make it something that you would actually feel comfortable admitting that watched from beginning to end.
