In the lead up to up AFL’s Multicultural Round (round 14) the AFL announced that the Australia Post Team of Champions squad has been named.
“We’re very proud of the opportunity to celebrate the roles of multicultural AFL players in helping to support diversity in the game and encourage new communities to come together in playing or watching sport,” Australia Post Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Fahour commented.
The Australia Post Multicultural Team of Champions will comprise 22 players, with Alex Jesaulenko (former Carlton player) announced as captain and Jock McHale (former Collingwood player and coach) as coach. It should be noted that to be considered eligible for selection Players must either have been born overseas or have at least one parent that has.
The final team will be announced in the lead up to the AFL Grand Final.
