Digital Hub and Digital Enterprise training services established at the Gungahlin Public Library

Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy and Dr Andrew Leigh MP recently announced the Gillard government will be providing $827,709 to the ACT to establish a Digital Hub at the Gungahlin Public Library and start Digital Enterprise training services. Senator Conroy explained that the NBN Digital Hubs and Enterprise program aim to:

• helps individuals in local communities improve their online and digital literacy skills;
• assists local residents to understand the opportunities created by the fast, affordable and reliable broadband delivered by the NBN; and
• works with small businesses and not-for-profit organisations to develop their online presence and take full advantage of the NBN.

ACT Chief Minister Katy Gallagher commented “Gungahlin is a young, dynamic and growing community and it is anticipated that approximately 33 000 people will be able to make regular use of the Hub facilities at the Gungahlin Library during the course of the two year program,”
