Three Rwandan kids walk 3000 miles through seven countries to make their way to the opening ceremony of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa.
To my knowledge, Africa United has not had a theatrical release in Australia and it is a shame that this movie did not receive one. I was aware of Africa United because I stumbled upon the preview on a chance hire from the friendly neighbourhood DVD store.
Like all road movies, Africa United has lots of heart but it also touches on poverty, the spread of the HIV virus and the use of child soldiers in Africa.
Another one of the magnificent things about this movie that all of the young actors involved with this movie seem to have virtually no professional acting experience.
Eriya Ndayambaje is an amazing young actor who has an amazingly charismatic on screen presence, I hope that he will go on to be in other movies.
