Mr. Church reunites the Expendables for what should be an easy paycheck, but when one of their men is murdered on the job; their quest for revenge puts them deep in enemy territory and up against an unexpected threat.
Just like the original movie, The Expendables 2 has a who’s who of the action genre for the past 30 years. However, of course, I have to admit that I found the cynic in me saying ‘shit, I didn’t realise that he was still working’ a few times.
Due to a change in director, The Expendables 2 had a completely different tone to the original movie. With the opening action sequence, West hit the accelerator hard but he seemed to fail to maintain that for the action for the entire movie, though I did appreciate some of the jokes that broke the fourth wall. Liam Hemsworth seemed to be somewhat of an odd casting choice in this movie. Granted the nickname of the character he was portraying was ‘The Kid’ but even that moniker Hemsworth seemed a little to clean cut for this movie.
