Of the novels written by Nicholas Sparks that have been turned into movies, The Lucky One is not one of those novels. For those of keeping score at home, I have read three of Spark’s novels. The Lucky One is a lot more of what you would generally associate with the romantic lead Zac Efron. Though it was good, see Efron in a couple of minor action scenes. The performances and chemistry between Efron and Taylor Schilling was great Blythe Danner stole the movie with her performance.The Lucky One and the other movies inspired by Nicholas Sparks’s novels have that goodness about them that you would generally associate with a ‘mum movie’.
