A Vietnam veteran who becomes a local hero after saving a man from attackers on a city bus decides to take action when his best friend is murdered and the police show little interest in solving the crime.
It is good to see that when making Bad Ass the filmmakers looked a little further afield then an amusement ride at Disneyland (this time they went to YouTube). For those of you who are not aware Bad Ass was inspired by an incident known as ‘The AC Transit Bus fight’ involving Thomas Bruso.
Danny Trejo is a brilliant action star and had an amazing onscreen presence. However, the beard on Trejo, though it did keep to the meme did seem a little too over the top for my tastes. I cannot help but think of Bad Ass as a cheesy and significantly less graphic version of Hobo with a Shotgun and to be honest I don’t see myself watching any of his previous movies.
