In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen.
Ok, for the record Snow White and The Huntsman was actually the second movie that I have watched in about a week that was inspired by the Snow White fairytale. This version of the story is light years ahead of Grim’s Snow White. However, unfortunately this movie might be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
I was kind of impressed with Kristen Stewart’s performance it actually appears that she is in the process of evolving into a less wooden actress, though I’m not sure if she was the best choice for the role.
Rupert Sanders seems to have a visual style that lent itself beautifully to Snow White. However, in places it seemed that Sanders’ action sequences seemed to be a little too slow for my tastes while more thought should have gone into the evil Queen’s demons. Though the dwarves gave great performances it would have been better to see actual little people cast in the roles of the dwarves.
I really doubt that a sequel is actually needed for Snow White, because All fairy tales end happily ever after. Right? Though, I would be interested in seeing any spinoff movie for the Huntsman.
