In Istanbul, retired CIA operative Bryan Mills and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter.

Taken 2 actually had the pedigree to be something good and despite the trailer and low expectations I’d like to think that I entered the cinema optimistic about the movie I was about to watch. Sadly, victory was not snatched from the jaws of defeat as director Oliver Megaton was yet again unable to overcome the ‘curse of the sequel’.
Megaton really was the wrong choice to direct. Pierre Morel, Luc Besson or a recent graduate film school should have been given the job.
There were some nice postcard shots of both Istanbul and Los Angles. However, the pretty scenery was not enough to distract you from the predictable mess of a story. The writing team of Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen should be congratulated for killing off the franchise.
