Set in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, a bootlegging gang is threatened by a new deputy and other authorities who want a cut of their profits.
Based on the 2008 novel The Wettest County in the World written by Matt Bondurant, who is the grandson of Jack Bondurant.
Not sure exactly what I was expecting with this one, though I am glad that I stopped procrastinating and gone to see this one. I suppose I was also expecting that the violence was going to be a little more gratuitous then it actually was. The violence actually seemed more explicit then gratuitous. Guy Pearce was menacingly brilliant.
