The troopers of two starships have joined forces to terminate a massive bug attack at a federation outpost. Before the mission can be completed and the survivors evacuated, one ship abruptly departs and goes inexplicably dark. The remaining battle-hardened troopers race to the rescue, only to discover that the threat from the bugs is about to hit home.
None of the movies in the Starship troopers franchise have ever been considered cinematic masterpieces. But don’t let that get in you in the way of getting that next time you are at your friendly neighbourhood DVD store.
Invasion has not forgotten its origins, though for the record the armour that was used in the live action movies has not been used here. Instead, the armour had more of a power armour look to it. I also would have loved to see that a little more effort be taken to get a more closer likeness of some of the characters who were featured in the first live action movie.
