New Year’s Resolutions: Yes or No?

It’s that time of year again when we are all faced with the choice on wither or not we will make any New Year’s Resolutions.

According to the CommBank I CAN 2013 Report released by the Commonwealth Bank 43 per cent of Australians or 14.5 million New Year’s resolutions will be made around the country this year, an increase of 4 million on last year.
However, the I CAN report also found that 22 per cent of people who actually made a new year’s resolution went on to break it within two days while a further 22 percent will break their resolutions within a month and these broken resolutions would cumulatively cost $162 million.
There is no need to feel that the universe is against you, the report also found that 55 per cent of Australians believe that by posting their resolutions to Posting resolutions on Facebook or Twitter that they are more likely to keep them.
“We know many Australians have a habit of making a hasty New Year’s resolution just so they have something to wish for as the clock strikes twelve. But many Aussies find in a few days, all their good intentions are lost! This year, we’re encouraging Australians to shout as loud as they can about their goals and share their 2013 resolutions with as many friends and family as they can through socialmedia.” Commonwealth bank Chief Marketing & Online Officer, Andy Lark commented.
