Six tourists hire an extreme tour guide who takes them to the abandoned city Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. During their exploration, they soon discover they are not alone.
Despite the all too familiar clichéd feel of the Chernobyl Diaries the only real redeeming feature of the movie was how beautiful the Ukrainian countryside seemed to be. I was surprised to find that it was less like the Blair Witch then I expected.
I am hoping somebody could explain it to me (maybe even Oren Peli himself) exactly how writer Oren Peli’s work could be considered to be ‘ground breaking’ when it seems that the majority of his work seems to have been inspired by other movies.
