Throughout the month of March, selected Australia Post outlets will help raise funds for UN Women Australia through the sale of International Women’s Day ribbons, key rings and pens and 100 per cent of funds going directly to UN Women Australia.
“Australia Post has a proud history of supporting International Women’s Day. The day itself is an opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our own female workforce.” Christine Corbett, Australia Post Executive General Manager Retail Services commented.
“UN Women Australia is pleased to be partnering with Australia Post for the third year on our International Women’s Day campaign. By wearing a purple ribbon on March 8 to mark International Women’s Day you can show your support for gender equality and ending violence against women,” Julie McKay, Executive Director of UN Women Australia said.
Julie McKay commented that the chosen beneficiaries of this year’s fundraiser is the UN Women’s Critical Services Initiative which will enable Papua New Guinea to respond to violence against women by providing immediate and free access to key services, including emergency hotlines, immediate safety and protection, safe housing, legal assistance and physical health care.
