A young man recounts the way he blackmailed his fellow classmates into contributing to his literary magazine.

Chris Colfer has written the first watchable ‘teen comedy’ that I have seen in months and Struck by Lightning does not have an entire cast that sounds as if it has swallowed a dictionary or have over-developed libidos because it seems at times that all you have to do is throw a brick to find one of those teen movies. I loved the wit that Colfer brought to his screenplay and the onscreen chemistry that he had with Allison Janey.
I will never be sure if the casting of Rebel Wilson in a movie will ever be a good sign. However, with her performance in Struck by Lightning it seems that she has managed to step past giving the same clichéd ‘clueless Bogan’ performance that she is so well known for.
I know that it might seem to be a little sappy but I kinda liked that the point movie about the importance of having hopes and dreams.
