One of the few remaining drone repairmen assigned to Earth, its surface devastated after decades of war with the alien Scavs, discovers a crashed spacecraft with contents that bring into question everything he believed about the war, and may even put the fate of mankind in his hands.
Oblivion might not be the kind of movie that is going to turn the science fiction genre on its head, but you should take the time to check this one out on DVD, especially if like me you did not go to the cinema to see this one. I loved the overall visual look of the film particularly the plane that Tom Cruise’s character flew.
Oblivion has one of the more interesting fight scenes that I have seen for a while and it a long way to help me draw some small comparisons to Duncan Jones’ 2009 film Moon staring Sam Rockwell.
Maybe it’s just me but doesn’t this considering that one at least occasions during this movie two of the main characters are seen riding a motorbike without any helmets, sure this just a movie but in a fame obsessed culture people look up to people like Tom Cruise.
