In the second series of A Moody Christmas, has commenced production. The eight-part series follows the loveable and hilariously dysfunctional Moody family as they come together for significant family events over a single year.
“This series sees an expansion of the Moody’s world beyond the Christmas theme, providing many more relatable and typically Australian interactions which are rich fodder for comedy,” said Chloe Rickard, Jungleboys Series Producer.
In the new series Dan (Ian Meadows) and Cora (Jane Harber) return home to Australia to set up house together. Now they are back Down Under, everything in their lives is topsy turvy. As they struggle to make ends meet, the Moody family home is up for sale; Sean’s (Patrick Brammall) funeral fireworks business is going great guns – literally; Maree (Tina Bursill) and Kevin (Danny Adcock) test the freewheeling lifestyle of the grey nomads; Bridget (Rachel Gordon) and Roger (Phil Lloyd) find out if there’s friendship after divorce; and Uncle Terry (Darren Gilshenan) is in a tangled love affair with Yvonne (Sacha Horler), a one-woman force of nature.
“We’re very excited that this series will see the Moodys escape the family home and embrace the wider world. Look out world!” ABC TV Head of Fiction Carole Sklan commented.
Ms. Rickard explained that the success of A Moody Christmas continues in the United States, with the Fox Network recently winning a bid to have Trent O’Donnell and Phil Lloyd write a pilot for a US version of the series, based on the same characters.
