Score 5/6
Set over the course of one day, a narcotics detective hunts for a seemingly harmless young criminal who knows a truth about the cop’s past.
For those of you who might be wondering this is actually the last movie Cory Monteith stared in before his death, and as sad as it is that he died McCanick is an amazing movie to go out on.
I suppose what is so great about McCanick is the plot which is so simple and the fact the filmmakers did not take the lazy way out by only out by telling linear story told over the course of a day but used flashbacks, which managed to build to an amazing climax.
David Morse also gave a brilliant performance, though it seems that he has an almost chameleon like quality that after watching this you will realise like I did how many brilliant movies that he has been in.
