Mike Jacobs thinks he’s safe in Witness Protection in Spain. However, when he’s spotted at an England game, a deadly game of cat and mouse between London, Marbella and New York ensues.
If you have been reading my reviews for a while you might remember that I am a fan of English made ‘crime’ movies as opposed to American ‘crime’ movies, I believe that the English movies have a completely different approach to the violence.
Now I was actually kind of excited when I found out the release date for England Away and I am kind of interested about the prospect of a third. For those of you who have not watched the previous movie you don’t have to worry because time is taken to explain the events of the previous movie.
It is pretty clear that England Away had a bigger budget then the previous movie, though I am not sure that was necessarily a good thing because it seemed that England Away lost some of the impact of the previous movie.
I could not help but notice that with the climax it seemed that Tanter was partly inspired by Green Street Hooligans 2 (who knew that such a crap movie would be able to inspire someone) though I suppose considering the movie’s title the connection with hooliganism up to that point was weak.
