An ex-special forces soldier turned boatman is hired by a journalist to investigate a top-secret military base on a nearby island.

Yes I know there is a general rule ‘never watch a movie directed by Uwe Boll … ever’. But sometimes curiosity gets the better of you.
It may be hard to believe but Uwe Boll is actually capable of directing a decent movie, but only when the stars align and the gods will it to be so (by my count he has managed to do this once in 2009). Now Boll’s interpretation of the video game Far Cry is not his best work but then again it’s not as bad as his BloodRayne sequels.
For those of you who have not heard Far Cry is a franchise that has spawned 8 games, this movie is based on the first of the games. It has been years since I have played the game the movie is based on but Boll has overlooked or more likely ignored the major plot points of the game, so understandably this is enough to ensure that fans of the franchise will not touch this movie with a ten foot barge pole. That being said the actors that Boll cast where enough to make the palatable enough for to be the type of movie to watch when there is nothing else to watch.
