A day-dreamer escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker are threatened, he takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.

If you overlook a certain scene that spoofs The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is actually a very beautiful movie to watch. The problem with the ‘Benjamin Button’ is that it seemed that the filmmakers where infusing the movie with an unneeded Tropic Thunder flavour of comedy.
For those of you keeping score at home The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a remake of a 1947 movie starring Danny Kaye which was loosely based on a short story published in 1939 written by James Thurber.
I suppose I was initially attracted to this movie because of the trailer unlike other trailers it at least seemed that the trailer for Walter Mitty was trying to guard some of the movie’s secrets. This will probably be one that I am going to look out for when it is released on DVD, granted some of the scenes might lose their impact on a smaller screen but watching a movie where the hero’s life changes because he is forced to leave his comfort zone, watched at the right time can do the soul good.
