Students from Woolooware High School helped The Australian Federal Police launch a new cyber safety video as part of its school cyber safety program.
AFP Coordinator Strategic Initiatives Dr Jenny Cartwright explained that the idea for “If your phone could talk” was developed by students from Woolooware High School last year as part of NSW Police Sutherland PCYC’s STR8TLK program. Doctor Cartwright added that the “If your phone could talk” video aims to encourage young people to think about the ethical choices they make when using their mobile devices and how their choices can affect themselves and their peers.
“The video being launched today attempts to encourage users to think about how they use their mobile phone and how it affects not only them, but the people around them,” Dr Cartwright said.
Doctor Cartwright pointed out that the video will form part of future cyber safety presentations for young people which will be delivered by the AFP and its state and territory police force ThinkUKnow partners.
