Summer war games between neighbourhood kids turns deadly serious when jealousy and betrayal enter the mix.
Wow, holy shit, oh my god. Possibly one of the stranger sentences that I have started a review with, but it’s probably the best way to describe how I was feeling once the credits started to roll.
When I read the back of the DVD case I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting, but the filmmakers delivered something really interesting. I also thought that the shifting between reality and the kids’ imagination was a nice touch.
As far as I can I don’t remember ever watching any of the kids who stared in this movie in anything else, though after getting a chance to glance through their filmographies I have a feeling that by pure chance I might have watched a TV series that one of them was one. I can’t say for certain. I was particularly impressed by Michael Friend who played Skinner he stole the movie and made it his own. I identified with the character, at least partly. However I would not have been able to take things to such a dark and twisted level as he did.
