A brother and sister battle a witch who lures teenagers into her suburban home with her special blend of marijuana where she then proceeds to kill and eat them to maintain her youth and beauty.
We’ve had the high action what happened to them 20 years later re-imagination of Hansel and Gretel which was an interesting enough concept. I suppose it was inevitable that a filmmaker was going to go for another re-imagination of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale and throw marijuana into the cinematic blend.
Now I’m just going to throw it out there that does the ‘twilight’ link that the movie had made this come across as being a ‘weed movie for kids’? In a similar way that Dave Chappelle believes that his original script for Half Baked was better than the actual movie. I have feeling that I might have to see a little bit more of Molly C Quinn’s live action work to see if she is capable of portraying anything other than a control freak private school girl. This really did not prove to be anything more than a clichéd horror movie so much so that it even had the obligatory horror movie open ended ending to leave room for the sequel. Something I hope the filmmakers do not take advantage.
Sometimes I judge movies based on a physical reaction I have when the credits start roll. I thought it was rather telling about the quality of this movie that I threw up just a little bit in my mouth when the credits rolled.
