A lawyer finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking.
Okay I remember that in my review for Pompeii I championed Ridley Scott’s abilities as a director over Paul W S Anderson’s. Now I feel that point is still perfectly valid even though The Counselor probably is not the best of movies to watch, clocking in at just under 2 hours gave this movie a bloated feeling and overall it had a very slow pace. But that bloated feeling more than makes up for the WTF feeling that most of us got while watching Prometheus.
There was an amazing cast who gave great performances and it was great to see Cameron Diaz cast in a role that was not the lead in a romantic comedy. Because of the length of the movie it seemed all the A-List actors that Scott managed to cram into this movie it seemed that they were all underutilized, perhaps this needed to come in at around 90 minutes.
