Minister for Territory and Municipal Services, Shane Rattenbury, has announced work has started on improvements to the intersection at Melrose Drive and Eggleston Crescent in Chifley.
“The intersection was changed in 2012, preventing a right hand turn from Eggleston Crescent, however we received feedback from the community that further improvements were needed,” said Mr Rattenbury.
“As such, TAMS will be installing traffic lights at the intersection over the coming weeks to improve safety and access in the area. The new traffic lights will be coordinated with existing traffic lights at the intersection of Melrose Drive and Botany Street.”
Mr Rattenbury explained that this $380,000 project is funded by Roads ACT through our Capital Upgrades Program. The work is being conducted by Roads ACT as part of works funded by the Federal Government’s Black Spot Program. Rattenbury added that the project is due for completion by the end of May.
