When a high profile judge commissions Jack Irish to locate a mysterious red book, Jack is thrown into a world of sexy club owners, drug dealers and unhinged killers.
I’m not familiar with the Peter Temple Jack Irish novels though I have watched the other two Jack Irish movies that have been produced, perhaps the posting of this review will inspire the revisiting of Bad Debts and Black Tide over the coming weeks.
Dead point has a solid cast comprised of everybody that you would expect to see in an Australian telemovie including an old favourite of the Australian entertainment industry the iconic Barry Humphries, it was also good to see that Aaron Pedersen, Roy Billing and Shane Jacobson reprised their roles which were featured in the previous two movies.
Fans of Australian productions are probably going to appreciate this one. Dead point is not like the typical big loud private detective movie that might usually watch because it doesn’t hit on all the stereotypes that you might expect but it does build from a slow simmer to an explosive ending.
