A hard-partying high school senior’s philosophy on life changes when he meets the not-so-typical “nice girl.

Those of you who have been visiting The Movie Boards on a regular basis might remember that I was not overly impressed with the last movie that I saw Ms Shailene Woodley in, which was Divergent. For the record I gave it a 2.5/6, for the simple reason that the movie really did not bring anything new to the table. In Retrospect my time probably would have been better served elsewhere.
Well it would seem that with her performance in The Spectacular Now Ms Woodley might have won me over with her abilities as an actress. Miles Teller, gave an ok performance but I really need to see him in different types of roles before he gets type casted in my mind.
For those of you who are wondering The Spectacular Now was adapted from a 2008 novel of the same name written by Tim Tharp, it should also be noted that I have been informed that there the movie and the novel don’t end the same way.
On the surface The Spectacular Now reminded me of the 2002 movie A Walk to Remember.
But The Spectacular Now seemed to break the mould for the typical Romantic Comedy which led up to an open ended ending.
