A dying CIA agent trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter is offered an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one last assignment.
My interest was perked when I saw the trailer for this a couple of months ago, and as we all know sometimes a movie’s trailer can prove to be deceiving or give away way to much about the movie. I really would not consider myself a fan of McG’s work but with the involvement of iconic French writer/director Luc Besson this had enough to prove to be something worthwhile. The action sequences where brutal (of particular note was the rather creative use of an elevator) without straying into the territory of the ‘big loud action movie’, I also loved how this had a similar feel to the 1994 movie True Lies.
Kevin Costner gave a great performance and I was struck by some of the similarities between Costner’s character and John Cusack’s character in the 1997 movie Grosse Pointe Blank.
