A mechanic and his family join the Autobots as they are targeted by a bounty hunter from another world.

Michael Bay would have to be one of the most talented clumsy filmmakers, and no matter how much people may have dumped on Transformers: Dark of the Moon Mr Bay has reached a new low with Age of Extinction. Though this really should not be a surprise considering that Mr Bay has the habit of starting production without a complete screenplay. Usually Bay is more than capable of eliciting an emotional response in a cinema when he blows shit up in action sequences, hell his movies even have the occasional comedic moment. Granted when I went to see this it was the last screening of the day, but the audience was so silent I could have sworn that I was sitting in a library. Mr Bay, stopping flogging what could end up being a dead horse and with the fifth movie go back to your roots and deliver an action movie that is actually worth watching.
Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer both gave great performances considering what they had to work with, I was also kind of impressed with John Goodman’s voice work, while everybody else seemed to be going through the motions. It was great to see that at the very least Age of Extinction acknowledged the events of the previous movie Dark of the Moon, but it is down-right insulting that the filmmakers did not acknowledge the fate of the main characters from the previous movie. Although there is no way to confirm this I cannot help but think that they may reappear in any potential sequels.
