Barney augments his team with new blood for a personal battle: to take down Conrad Stonebanks, the Expendables co-founder and notorious arms trader who is hell bent on wiping out Barney and every single one of his associates.

I really did not have the highest of expectations for The Expendables 3, and truthful I was seriously considering waiting till this one came out on DVD. The same feelings of excitement came out when I first heard that the third movie was being realised but that quickly gave way to jokes in my mind about the majority of the cast needing to pad out their investment portfolios. This point was re-enforced in my mind when you take into consideration that the previous two Expendables movies where rated R while the third movie received a PG13 rating in America. This dramatically changed the intensity of the movie. No matter how much of a dream cast The Expendables movies have given us one of the basic rules of film franchise development has been broken twice. Director Continuity Throughout the entire Franchise. This protects the overall feel of all of the movies.
Now it should be noted that Patrick Hughes was directing his second feature and it the filmmakers where so intent on walking down the path of a PG13 rating why didn’t they take a leaf out of the 1983 iconic television series The A-Team and complete the 80’s nostalgia by giving us action sequences that you would expect to see in an episode of The A-Team because it was blatantly clear that little if no thought was put into the writing of this the third installment of The Expendables.
