When an eclectic group of terrorists plot to attack the United States from within, it’s up to a quasi-military special investigative unit to identify, infiltrate and neutralize the threat.
April Rain would have to be one of the most uninspired action movies that I have seen in recent years. There was no real development to any aspect of the plot past the most basic idea that came to the writer when he was writing the screenplay. In a movie like this it’s the crime boss/terrorist’s plot that drives it. This plot was not developed past the most stereotypical being that they are foreign so they are supposed to hate America.
Director Luciano Saber would have to be one of my favourite directors. Though you should know that this is because of Saber’s talent but because of his incompetence. Which I believe to be on a level where he would be able to give clumsy directors like Michael Bay a master class.
Saber’s incompetence was at its best during the final action sequence when in the space of 15 seconds a quad copter that was supposed to be a US drone fired invisible guns at the crime boss played by an actor by the name of Adrian L Tudor who missed the squib hits and completely miscued his being riddled with those said bullets.
Mr Saber I applaud your abilities as an unintentional comedic director.
