Minister for Environment and Climate Change Ryan Smith and Member for Seymour and Liberal candidate for Eildon Cindy McLeish recently announced a $220,000 investment in partnership with Four Wheel Drive Victoria to keep our bush clean.
Mr Smith said the Napthine Government is delighted that Four Wheel Drive Victoria has joined its campaign and will help locate rubbish dumped illegally and remove it from the forest. “Hotspots will be identified and cleaned up by members of Four Wheel Drive Victoria to protect and enhance our parks and forests,” Mr Smith said “The Napthine Government’s $220,000 support for Four Wheel Drive Victoria is another example of how we’re supporting local action that protects our environment,”
Ms McLeish said the Clean Up the Bush project would deliver long term benefits for the Eildon community and the environment. “This project will encourage recreationalists to clean up after themselves when they are out in the bush and to report those seen dumping rubbish illegally,” Ms McLeish said.
Nationals candidate for Eildon Jim Child said the Coalition Government’s agreement with Four Wheel Drive Victoria will also see tracks cleared, education services made available on camping and four wheel driving, and a Victorian Four Wheel Drive guide developed.
“The Napthine Government is committed to managing Victoria’s parks for the benefit of the community,” Mr Child said. “This is best achieved through meaningful partnerships with outstanding local and community groups like Four Wheel Drive Victoria.”
