Mercy Callo is a U.S. Black Ops soldier who finds himself the only survivor of a botched prisoner extraction mission. Forced to fight his way out of a maximum-security Chechen prison, he must keep his target alive in order to save thousands of lives.
For those of you who are interested Extraction is said to be the first studio produced feature film made specifically for the Internet. I only really found out about Extraction after stumbling across a fight scene between Paul Duke and Jon Foo on YouTube.
I’m more familiar with Tony Giglio’s work as a writer then as a director and with Extraction, Giglio has delivered an action movie that is simple enough maybe even a little clichéd at times but definitely worth watching especially for the twist at the end. Even though there was some pretty decent actors in some of the key roles for the movie in the shape of Danny Glover, Sean Astin and Vinnie Jones some of the acting did come across as being a little flat at times, but it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of the movie. However, I did enjoy the chemistry between Jon Foo and Falk Hentschel.
Jon Foo’s character Mercy Callo is the second character in recent weeks that I have come across with an odd sounding name in recent weeks that will probably go part of the way to ensure that I at least partly remember this movie.
Fans of action movies should enjoy this there are a couple of pretty good sequences, which made this a good choice for any action movie marathon.
