Ex-government operative Bryan Mills is accused of a ruthless murder he never committed or witnessed. As he is tracked and pursued, Mills brings out his particular set of skills to find the true killer and clear his name.
This is quite clearly the better of the two sequels that comprise the Taken trilogy and I would argue that this movie is the movie that should have been made two years ago instead of the Istanbul story that in my eyes came across as a poor copy of the original movie that was released in 2008. I believe that the reason for this failing is that he did not learn his lesson from the sequels that were made for the 2002 movie The Transporter. That being said, there is no real point to go and see this one at your friendly local cinema, it would probably be better to wait until this one comes out on DVD.
Forest Whitaker gave a decent enough performance with what he had but an actor of his calibre really needed a role that he could sink his teeth into while at this point Liam Nesson probably could have given this performance in his sleep. Maybe with a little combining of plot elements from the second and third movies the filmmakers could have actually delivered a sequel to the 2008 that was actually worth watching and gave Taken the chance of actually being a worthwhile sequel. Sadly that is not the case here this ‘trilogy’ was RIP 2012.
