Deckard Shaw seeks revenge against Dominic Toretto and his family for the death of his brother.
For those of you out there, who might have watched any of the previous 6 movies and might not have ‘got’ the trailers, I can see how these movies might not be your thing but there is not a lot to get about these movies except for the fact that in the franchise’s universe the second movie actually took place after the 6th movie and I suppose it never hurts to temporarily ignore any physics that you might of learnt in school and openly embrace the concept of movie physics as you go along for the ride.
So that they were able to finish after Paul Walker’s death for those of you who were still wondering the filmmakers ended up using Body doubles, stunt doubles, and CGI was used. Most notably Paul Walker’s brothers Caleb and Cody were among the doubles, and also provided voice over for the character Brian O’Conner. I thought that Walker’s character Brian was going to get more of heroic send off. Though the send-off Walker got was clearly from the heart.
It seems that the filmmakers are planning to continue on with the franchise without Walker, and to be honest I don’t really blame them considering that the franchise has earned $2.3 billion worldwide at the box-office I really can’t blame them for having plans for the future. Besides 8 is a nice round number.
I’m not entirely sure what attracted me to the Fast & Furious movies in the first place but by about the fourth movie I had invested so much time in the franchise that I’ve just gone along for the ride of the subsequent movies. These movies have always been not much then the typical action movie building to the next set piece of vehicular mayhem. Perhaps if there had been stronger continuity with the writer and Director, this Franchise could have developed into something more.
