Newlywed couple Ted and Tami-Lynn want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he’s a person in a court of law.
Alright, I’m a Seth MacFarlane’s work though I might have considered leaving watching Ted 2 for awhile if there was something more appealing to watch and the friendly neighborhood cinema considering MacFarlane’s work at times has a tendency to be a little hit and miss. That being said Ted 2 has redeemed MacFarlane’s abilities as director especially after his groan-worthy offering from last year A Million Ways to Die in the West.
Ted 2 is not one of those movies where you have to have watched the first movie to understand what is going on, because it is just a comedy. But it might be a good idea if only to get a better understanding of Giovanni Ribisi’s character Donny’s motivation.
This is not a genius movie, it’s passable. There was enough good will towards MacFarlane’s foulmouthed teddy bear to get this sequel made. Even though Ted 2’s plot was a little predictable there were enough laughs to carry me through the movie and with the way that Hollywood is about franchises it really wouldn’t surprise me if there was another movie in a few years to round out the trilogy.
