The Kadam family leaves India for France where they open a restaurant directly across the road from Madame Mallory’s Michelin-starred eatery.

I am going to have to file this one under the list of movies that I wished saw sooner or possibly even during its cinematic release. For those of you who might of realised it but The Hundred Foot Journey was adapted from a 2014 novel by American novelist Richard C. Morais.
Fans of the 2014 movie Chef are probably going to enjoy this because both had family at the core of the plot and did their best to showcase food. Though unlike Chef the ending for The Hundred Foot Journey did not feel as it was rushed and the best I can tell there no scenes that where in The Hundred Foot Journey that where added for the Director’s benefit. As movie go this might come across as being a little predictable but considering that the movie is so heartfelt that can easily be overlooked especially considering that director Lasse Hallstrom has such a good track record with heartfelt feel good movies, I was also vaguely familiar with English writer Steven Knight’s work who seems to have rather broad wheelhouse, Knight wrote Locke, Seventh Son and Amazing Grace.
